Christmas 2024: That’s a wrap!
Over the last two weeks we have given out 220 food parcels, feeding 564 people and sent Christmas Hampers out to 215 households!
Our team of volunteers have been amazing until the end- taking on extra hours and extra tasks, and even pulling in favours from friends and family to provide emergency food parcels to record numbers. Our partnering support services have played a crucial role in ensuring people have received the emotional, social and financial support they need this time of year. And our referral agencies have ensured those most in need in our community have been able to access all of this support.We’ve also had help from local businesses, with Globestock, BT and HSBC releasing their employees to us for their volunteer days. They have been fantastic getting stuck in with whatever was needed.
Donations of food, gifts and money have poured in from far and wide. A huge thank you to all our supporters, without whom none of this would have been possible!
From all of us here at Foodbank, we wish you a Merry Christmas and look forward to serving our community in the New Year. We will be open from Monday 6th January.
