These  are the end of year statistics- from 17th March 2020 to 31st March 2021- which coincide with the closing of the Ellesmere foodbank and the beginning of the first lockdown:

Individuals Helped

• Adults: 4691 ( last year 2865)
• Children under 18: 1431 ( last year 978)
• Young adults 18-25: 371

% Households Helped

• 46% single households
• 14% couples or two person households
• 40% families

Reasons for needing assistance

• Debt/low income/benefit delays and changes, delayed wages: 3687
• Domestic violence 128
• Sickness 441
• Homelessness 132
